Selling / Step-by-Step Guide / Estate Agents
1. Clean!
Clean everything. Your bathrooms and kitchen needs to be spotless as most people will be put off by a dirty bathroom or kitchen. Dust and vacuum everywhere and make sure that all the windows are clean. The pool and surrounding area should be clean and in good condition. And don't forget the light switches.
2. Repair!
Now is the time repair cracks and damp walls. All cracked windows should be fixed immediately as well as any locks and hinges on doors. Replace light bulbs that have blown and make sure that all the lights are in working condition.
3. Touch up!
Use touch up paint if necessary and make sure that you oil all the squeaky doors. Make sure the garden is also neat and tidy.
4. Hide and Seek!
Your cosy (i.e. stuffed with furniture) rooms might be too overcrowded for someone else. Move a chair or table to an appearance of more space. Bizarre lamps and carpets should maybe put away when potential buyers visit.
5. It's the little things in life!
Some fresh flowers in a vase and you are ready to go. Ask the estate agent for his or her opinion on your house as well - they are after all specialists in this area.
